Steel counters and eight stones

Everything on this dial is black, silver or sparkling. The three counters are steel tone with fine circles, eight small stones in white settings mark the hours, and the hour and minute hands are steel with black inlays. The red DAYTONA line is the one warm colour. Compared with the 126509 blue dial, it is the dressier choice; the silver 126509 shows the same case with plain markers, and the 126519LN gem-set puts this dial on rubber.

A cool white tone

The 40 mm case, crown, pushers, the bezel with its engraved tachymeter and the three-link Oyster bracelet are 904L steel in a white gold tone, close to the look of polished steel. The bracelet uses a folding clasp, and the dial sits under sapphire with an anti-reflective coating. Rated to 30 m, it covers rain and hand washing; the pool and the shower are not part of it.

Running the chronograph

Press the upper pusher to start and stop, the lower one to reset. Elapsed minutes appear at 3 and hours at 9, while the counter at 6 shows running seconds. You can order it with the Japanese movement, a Miyota-based automatic at 21,600 vph and about 40 hours of reserve, or with the Swiss one, which follows the 4130 chronograph at 28,800 vph. Is the case of this 126509 white gold?

No. It is 904L steel finished in a white gold tone. The colour is close to polished steel, which is why the black dial and steel-tone counters look so crisp against it.
