Champagne, batons, nothing else

The dial is a warm champagne sunburst that turns lighter at the centre under a lamp. Batons mark the hours, the hands are gold tone, and the day sits in the arched window at 12. There are no stones and no numerals. The same colour with Roman numerals and with stones exists on other listings, and the black 228238-0004 with baguette markers is the dark alternative.

Plating and crystal

The case and the President bracelet are 904L steel; the yellow colour is plating, and what to expect from Day-Date gold plating explains what that means over years of wear. The crystal is sapphire with an anti-reflective coating.

Japanese: Miyota-based, about 40 hours, quickset date. Swiss: built to follow the original caliber, 28,800 vph, about 70 hours. Water: 30 m. For a cooler finish, the 228236 with the blue-to-black ombre dial is in a platinum tone. Every other version is in Day-Date models side by side.

Are the batons and hands on this 228238 gold or silver tone?
