How the colours line up

Case, crown, pushers and clasp are yellow gold-plated 904L steel. The bezel is black ceramic with gold-tone tachymeter numbers, and the strap is black rubber, so black and gold alternate from the outside in. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating keeps the dial readable. Rated to 30 m, it is made for rain, not for the pool.

Movement and fit

A 40 mm Daytona suits wrists from about 17 to 18 cm. Order it with the Japanese movement, Miyota-based at 21,600 vph and about 40 hours of reserve, or the Swiss one, which follows the 4130 chronograph at 28,800 vph. Both run the chronograph with start, stop and reset. The black-dial 126518LN is the dark version, and the Daytona range holds the others.

Is the golden dial the same colour as the case?

Close, but not identical. The dial is a champagne gold that is a shade lighter than the yellow gold-plated case, and the black counters separate the two.
